Chart Two
For Chart Two, and single value was derived for each percentage of black voters. When there was more states with the same percentage of black voters, corresponding values were averaged. The data table follows immediately below, followed by the list of states at each percentage (except for singular states, which are noted on the data table), two charts (one for gender, one for White voters) with the original ‘averaged’ data and formulas that provided the values (except for the percentage of black voters) for the Chart two Data Table, the weighed and unweighed original data, and a small chart showing how trend lines based on averaging differs from trend lines based on values derived from 50 individual states.
